The Short Version
- KaspaDash has no accounts, no sign-up and no wallet connection. We never ask for your name, email or any other personal details.
- The app is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, you're asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time.
- If the app crashes, an anonymous crash report is sent to help us fix it.
- We don't run our own servers for the app, and we never sell your data.
1. Information the App Collects
a) Advertising data (Google AdMob)
KaspaDash shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect:
- your device's advertising ID
- your IP address and approximate location (derived from your IP)
- device and app information, such as model, operating system and language
- how you interact with ads, such as views and taps
If you're in the UK, the European Economic Area, Switzerland or a region with similar laws, the app shows Google's consent form before any ads load. Personalised ads are only shown if you agree. If you decline, Google may still show non-personalised ads based on context. These still involve limited processing for fraud prevention and frequency capping.
Google's use of this data is covered by Google's Privacy Policy, and its page on how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
b) Crash and error reports (Sentry)
If the app crashes or hits an error, a diagnostic report is sent to Sentry, our error-monitoring provider. A report contains technical information, such as:
- device model and operating system version
- app version
- the error message and the point in the code where it happened
Crash reports do not include your name, contact details or anything you've searched for. They are stored in Sentry's EU data region (Germany) and kept for a limited period, typically up to 90 days. Sentry's privacy policy.
c) Network data you look up
KaspaDash loads public blockchain data directly from:
- the public Kaspa API (api.kaspa.org)
- the Kasplex KRC-20 indexer (api.kasplex.org)
When you open a screen or search for a block, transaction, address or token, your device sends that request directly to these services. Like any website, they will see your IP address. We don't receive, log or store your searches. Kaspa addresses and transactions are public information on the Kaspa blockchain.
d) Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, wallet keys or financial account details. KaspaDash cannot access, hold or move your funds.
If you choose to email us for support, we'll receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you.
2. Why We Use Your Information, and Our Legal Basis
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (UK GDPR / EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Showing personalised ads | Advertising data | Your consent |
| Showing non-personalised ads, preventing ad fraud | Limited advertising data | Our legitimate interest in funding a free app |
| Fixing crashes and improving reliability | Crash reports | Our legitimate interest in providing a working app |
| Replying to support requests | Your email and message | Our legitimate interest in helping you |
3. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers needed to run the app:
- Google (AdMob): advertising and consent management
- Sentry: crash and error reporting
We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
4. International Transfers
Google may process advertising data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or by an adequacy decision. Crash reports are stored by Sentry in the EU.
5. Your Choices and Rights
Ad consent. Open Settings → Privacy choices in the app to review or change your ad consent at any time. This option appears where the law requires it. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
Your rights. Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the right to:
- access your personal data
- correct or delete it
- restrict or object to its processing
- data portability
- withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these, email info@appositelabs.co.uk. Because KaspaDash has no accounts, we hold very little that can identify you, and we may need your help to find data relating to your device.
Complaints. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), or to your local data protection authority.
6. Children
KaspaDash is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Links to Other Websites
KaspaDash may link to external websites, such as our own website or the app store. These sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
8. Not Financial Advice
KaspaDash displays public network and market data for information only. Nothing in the app is financial advice.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add features. We'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know within the app or on this page.
