Terms of Use — AyahLock

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of AyahLock ("the app"), developed by Apposite Labs Ltd ("Apposite Labs", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using AyahLock, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What AyahLock Does

AyahLock lets you choose specific apps on your device to restrict. When you open a restricted app, AyahLock displays a verse from the Qur'an, which you can read before continuing. Verses are shown in sequence, allowing you to progress through a full reading of the Qur'an over time. The app tracks your progress, streaks, and completions locally on your device.

AyahLock is a personal productivity and reflection tool. It is not a substitute for religious education or guidance, and nothing in the app should be treated as a religious ruling or authoritative interpretation.

2. Qur'an Text and Translation

The Arabic text used in AyahLock is the Tanzil Uthmani script, and the English translation is the Saheeh International translation. Both are used in accordance with their respective terms of use, and we make reasonable efforts to display them accurately. If you notice an error, please contact us so we can review it.

3. Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use AyahLock only for its intended purpose
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or circumvent the app's functionality in a way that violates applicable law
• Not use the app in any way that is unlawful or infringes on the rights of others

AyahLock relies on Android's Accessibility Service to detect when a restricted app is opened. This mechanism can be disabled at any time from your device settings, which will stop AyahLock from restricting access to your chosen apps. We do not guarantee that AyahLock will block access to restricted apps under all circumstances (for example, after a device restart, an operating system update, or if the required permission is revoked).

4. Advertising

AyahLock is free to use and includes advertising, provided through Google AdMob, including native ads and optional rewarded ads that let you skip the reading timer. By using the app, you agree to the display of these ads. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising data is handled.

5. No Warranty

AyahLock is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects. We do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of khatam counts, streaks, or other tracked statistics.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apposite Labs Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, AyahLock, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of progress, or any restricted app remaining accessible when it should not be.

7. Changes to the App and These Terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue AyahLock, or any part of it, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using AyahLock at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app in cases of misuse or violation of these Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
