Privacy Policy — AyahLock

AyahLock ("the app", "we", "us") is developed by Apposite Labs Ltd ("Apposite Labs", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

AyahLock is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifying information.

The following data is stored locally on your device only, and is never transmitted to us:

• Your reading progress through the Qur'an (current surah and verse)
• Your streak, khatam (completion) count, and reading history
• The list of apps you have chosen to restrict

This data remains on your device and is not accessible to us. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted.

2. Permissions

AyahLock requests the following Android permissions, used strictly for the functions described:

• Accessibility Service — used only to detect when a restricted app is opened, so the app can display a verse before you continue. AyahLock does not read the content of other apps, your messages, passwords, or anything you type, and does not record or transmit any information gathered through this permission.
• Query All Packages — used only to display a list of installed apps so you can choose which ones to restrict.
• Ignore Battery Optimizations — used only to keep the app-detection service running reliably in the background; this is optional and can be skipped or revoked at any time in your device settings.

3. Advertising

AyahLock displays ads (including native ads and optional rewarded ads) through Google AdMob. Google may collect and process data — such as advertising identifiers and device information — to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google's own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

You can control ad personalization through your device's advertising settings (e.g. "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in Android Settings).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We do not operate any backend server that stores your reading progress, vault selections, or personal information — everything relevant to your use of the app stays on your device, with the exception of the advertising data described in Section 3, which is handled directly by Google.

5. Children's Privacy

AyahLock is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Since your data is stored only on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling AyahLock.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
